We’re looking for a Technical Architect to support the ongoing evolution of our technology architecture. This role will work closely with the Head of Technical Architecture and teams across the business to shape, document, and guide the design of systems that align with our long-term vision.

What we’re looking for:

  • A collaborative architect who works with engineering and product teams to co-design solutions, not just review them.
  • Strong experience in distributed systems, cloud-native architecture (ideally GCP), and modern software delivery practices.
  • Proven ability to balance long-term architectural thinking with near-term delivery needs.
  • Experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Excellent communicator, comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders (technical and non-technical).
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, capable of creating clarity through collaborative design and open decision-making.

Key responsibilities:

  • Partner with teams to guide architectural direction and unblock delivery where needed.
  • Contribute to architectural documentation, roadmaps, and technical decision records.
  • Support and evolve architectural governance and review processes.
  • Help identify and manage architectural risks, technical debt, and non-functional requirements.
  • Promote principles such as service autonomy, modularity, and alignment to business and customer value.
  • This is a strategic, cross-cutting role suited to someone who enjoys working across teams to influence good architectural outcomes and help foster a culture of thoughtful, shared design.
