This role has been created to help ensure that software developed by the business is fit for purpose. You’ll be conducting manual and (after training) automated testing on our internal and external applications, across a variety of devices.

Job Responsibilities:
You’ll be working closely with the Test Team, Developers and various project & business managers to ensure that projects are fully tested.

Whilst unit-testing will remain the responsibility of the coders, the Test Team are responsible for ensuring the final system meets the users’ requirements. This involves the IT integration testing, including functional, load, performance, stress and other testing as required. It also involves working with the users to ensure their requirements have been met.

We have recently started using automation testing as part of our overall development process. You will help with the future production of these automated test packs, ensuring they remain relevant and continue to give us benefit. Full training will be provided, we do not expect you to be familiar with our test tool.

You will:

·Attend project and user meetings to understand the scope of the project. These will often be Teams meetings, as the testing team is split between London and the US

·Work with developers to ensure individual requirements are understood. Again, some developers are in the US and some in the UK

·Work in cross-functional teams developing various application products with the intention of seamless integration

·Help to estimate and plan testing activities

·Write and execute test plans for both manual and automated testing

·Provide clear bug reports and recommendations for improvement, to both technical and non-technical audiences

·Assist with volume, load and smoke testing as required

·Review documentation

·Trouble shoot and problem solve

·Work closely with colleagues in the US and Europe

·Ensuring Microsoft DevOps, used for bug-logging, estimating and general project-management, is kept up to date

·Keep up-to-date on testing methods and tools, and advise colleagues on best-practice approaches to testing

·In time, assist building and deploying to test environments

·Query databases to find results to assist with test execution

Skills Required:
We are looking for someone who:

·Is able to show enthusiasm, flexibility and commitment

·Has the communication and inter-personal skills to fit into a team and work closely with developers and users

·Can show very good attention to detail

·Takes pride in ensuring the final system is as robust as possible

·Has the ability to understand the customers’ requirements, and the ability to clarify these requirements where necessary

·Is able to present results clearly, using spreadsheets and other Office tools as necessary

·Is able to, after training, produce automated test packs and run these tools.

·Any experience of coding at any level will be beneficial (especially in either C#, Python, SQL)

·Has experience testing in the commercial field

·Has experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies

·Can demonstrate various test techniques
